Emergency response teams in Newquay successfully rescued a dog trapped over the cliff on Porth Island on 6th March.
The Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team, along with Newquay RNLI Lifeboats and HM Coastguard Padstow, responded to the incident at 1650hrs.
They conducted a technical rope rescue and safely retrieved the dog, who was thankfully uninjured, and reunited it with its owner.
Earlier on the same day, the Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team assisted the South Western Ambulance Service in attending to a casualty on the Barrowfields.
The coastguard provided care until the arrival of the ambulance service.
The coastguard advises anyone who sees someone in difficulty along the coast to dial 999 and ask for assistance rather than attempting a rescue themselves.
