Rare choughs have made a comeback to Tintagel Castle in Cornwall, ending a nearly 100-year absence from the site.

These birds are significant in Cornish folklore, as legend has it that King Arthur's soul lives on as a chough.

Choughs were last seen in Cornwall in 1973.

Their disappearance was considered an ill omen by some, but recent conservation efforts along the Cornish coastline have successfully restored their habitats.

Now, these symbolic birds have been spotted circling the cliffs where Arthur was famously said to have been conceived.

Years of dedicated conservation work have played a vital role in the choughs' return, reviving a connection to the rich tapestry of local legend and natural heritage.
