A new partnership is aiming to boost support for local projects across Cornwall.

The Boardmasters Foundation, which raises money from the surf and music festival each year, will now work with Cornwall Community Foundation to manage its grants and reach more community groups.

Over £120,000 was raised in 2025 alone, helping a range of causes from Newquay Foodbank to Cornwall Pride.

During the 2024 cycle alone, 52 charities, projects and organisations received support and were added to a growing list of beneficiaries that includes The Wave Project, Newquay Train Station Toilets, Concrete Waves, multiple public murals, the England Para Surf Team, Newquay Foodbank, the Nansleddan Arts Festival, Cornwall Pride, 11 local schools, the Newquay Museum Group, Mawgan Porth Village Hall and many others. Stories about some of these projects that have been supported can be viewed on the Boardmasters YouTube.

This exciting partnership promises strengthen the Foundation's ability to support local groups and initiatives that embody the festival's commitment to culture and community across Cornwall.

The partnership is said to represent a significant step forward in the Foundation's mission to support projects that promote surfing, music, creativity, education, and Cornish culture, whilst enhancing the lives of individuals in local communities.

Applications for the next round of funding open in the new year, with a free online workshop set for the fifteenth of December to help groups apply.
