15-year-old boy suffers serious injuries after collision in Redruth

A 15-year-old boy has been hospitalised with potentially life changing injuries following a collision involving a white Seat car in Redruth.

The incident occurred at around 9.50pm last night, 25th March, on St Day Road.

Devon & Cornwall Police arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs and causing serious injury while driving without due care and attention.

He is currently in police custody.

Emergency services, including Cornwall air ambulance, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWAST), and specialist officers from Devon and Cornwall’s Alliance Roads Policing Team, attended the scene.

Forensic Collision Investigators conducted a full investigation of the site to determine the cause of the collision.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or relevant dash cam footage to come forward.
