Woman dead and man seriously injured following collision in Huntingdonshire

Police are appealing for witnesses

A woman has died and a man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a road crash in Huntingdonshire.

The incident happened at 11.52am on Monday 29 June on the B1040 Potton Road in Abbotsley, when a Renault GRD Modus Dynamique was involved in a collision with a white DAF lorry.

A 73-year-old female passenger in the car was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with severe injuries. She later died on Tuesday 30 June.

The driver of the car, an 84-year-old man from St Neots, was also taken to the same hospital in a critical condition and remains there receiving treatment.

The lorry driver, a 46-year-old man from Sandy in Bedfordshire, was not injured in the crash.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward in order to support their investigation.
