The family of a "deeply loved" father who died after his motorcycle collided with a lamp post in Peterborough have paid tribute to him.

50-year-old Robin Cooper, of Earl Mews, Market Deeping, died at the scene of the collision on 3rd April.

He was travelling north west from the A605 on Flaxley Road at about 2.40pm on a red Triumph Daytona.

His son said in a family tribute: “Robin was a deeply loved father, son, brother, uncle and friend. To those he left behind, he was a great man and will be remembered for his charismatic nature and humour always making us smile.

“Dad's unwavering strength, support and love meant the world to myself and my brother, and he encapsulated every element of a man we could ever wish to be. He is forever in the hearts of those he meant the most to, and we are proud to carry his memory and soul with us for the rest of our days.

“We will treasure the memories of a good man gone far, far too soon. Our family, beloved dog Dove, and every life touched beyond will sorely miss you, Dad, and we look forward to seeing you again and will live our lives to the fullest in your memory.”

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone who saw the collision to come forward.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact the police online or by calling 101 quoting Operation Poplar or incident 280 of 3 April.
