Crews from Huntingdon Fire Station came to the aid of a stranded Labrador yesterday.

Firefighters from blue watch, along with a crew of on-call firefighters, were called at around 11.45am to reports of a dog stuck in a brook in Alconbury.

A fire service spokesperson said: “Scooby had gone for a splash around in the brook near the playing fields, but struggled to get out due to the steep banks.

“Thankfully, we were able quickly locate him and managed to bring him safely back up the bank, to reunite him with his owner.”

The crew were back at their station by 12.30pm.
