Man jailed after Peterborough property used for sex work
49-year-old linked to online adverts and mobile phone at London Road property
A 49-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for his involvement in controlling sex work at a property in Peterborough.
Soon Chin was arrested on 23rd July after officers investigated a property on London Road following concerns of sexual exploitation.
During their visit, officers discovered evidence of sex work, such as signs displaying prices and multiple used condoms.
Authorities linked Chin to a mobile phone found at the property, used for online advertising and communication with clients.
DC Steph Barnes-Dunlop highlighted the connection between this sort of activity and exploitation, saying: “Chin was clearly involved in running this operation to use the property for sex work.
“This kind of activity is widely associated with exploitation, with women and girls forced to perform sexual acts for others to profit from."
She added: “We’re determined to do all we can to tackle exploitation in all its forms and bring people to justice who seek to prey on others for their own financial gain.”
