Three men have been jailed following a violent attack in Cambridge.

Nathan Brown-Bonnett, Joel Farrow-Brown, and Liam Cafferkey armed themselves with zombie knives and a kitchen knife before launching an unprovoked assault on a victim at his Drayton Road home just after 3pm on 24th July.

The 45-year-old victim was stabbed 7 times and suffered severe injuries, including a facial slash from forehead to lip, and a serious wound to his shoulder.

He required multiple blood transfusions and plastic surgery due to the extent of his injuries.

A 41-year-old woman at the property was also injured, receiving a minor cut to her stomach.

CCTV footage from nearby properties captured the trio fleeing the scene, which detectives used to identify them.

All three men, who have no fixed addresses, previously pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent.

Additionally, Farrow-Brown faced associated charges and admitted to eight counts of beating an emergency worker.

Brown-Bonnett, aged 46, received a sentence of eight years and one month in prison.

Farrow-Brown, aged 27, was sentenced to nine years, while Cafferkey, aged 25, received seven years and two months.

Detective Constable Edward Mcauley, who investigated the case, highlighted the severity of the attack and the resultant distress to the victim:

“This was a shocking and completely unprovoked attack that left a man with devastating injuries. The level of violence used was extreme and there is absolutely no place for this kind of behaviour in our communities.

"Thanks to diligent investigative work, these three men have been brought to justice and will now spend a significant time behind bars. We hope this sentence provides reassurance to the public that we will relentlessly pursue those who carry knives and commit violent offences.”
