Man critical in hospital after e-bike crash in Cambridge

The car involved in the collision did not stop at the scene

Two people have been hospitalised following a serious crash involving an e-bike and a car in Cambridge.

Police say the collision happened shortly after midnight (26 March) on Newmarket Road.

The rider of the e-bike, a 31-year-old man from Cambridge, has sustained life-threatening injuries and is in a critical condition at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

His passenger, a 34-year-old woman also from Cambridge, is being treated at the same hospital for serious injuries and is said to be in a stable condition.

The driver of the blue Seat Leon involved in the collision did not stop, leading to an investigation by the police.

Authorities have arrested three individuals on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Those taken into custody a include a 19-year-old man from Luton and two 21-year-old men from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

Police are seeking witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage or information related to the incident.
