Drug dealer jailed after Cambridge police stop uncovers cocaine and cash stash
Officers discover drugs, cash and messages linked to supply operation during roadside stop and home search
A drug dealer has been jailed after police stopped a vehicle in Cambridge and uncovered drugs, cash and evidence of drug supply.
Officers were patrolling Newmarket Road on 14 February when they were alerted to a white BMW suspected of being involved in local drug dealing. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Emiljan Durici, of Ditton Walk, Cambridge.
Checks carried out at the roadside revealed that Durici had no valid insurance. During a search, officers also found a mobile phone containing messages linked to drug dealing, along with £274 in cash found on his person. He was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
A further search conducted while he was detained uncovered four small bags of cocaine hidden in his clothing, with an estimated street value of around £160.
Police later searched his home in Ditton Fields, where they found additional evidence including £4,000 in cash, 11 bags of cannabis, and 19 bags of cocaine with a combined street value of more than £2,000.
At Peterborough Crown Court on 12 May, Durici was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis, possession of criminal property, and driving without a licence and insurance. He has also been disqualified from driving for 30 months.

Proactive patrols and intelligence-led policing play a vital role in disrupting those involved in the supply of drugs, and we will continue to take action against anyone who thinks they can profit from criminal activity.”
