A drink-driver from east Berkshire has been jailed after causing a crash in which a former Cambridge United and Concord Rangers footballer lost his leg.
The collision happened on Saturday 1 February 2025 on the M27, where a Mercedes being driven by Anna Malgorzata Bogusiewicz hit a Volkswagen Golf that was pulled over on the hard shoulder.
The VW Golf belonged to Jordan Chiedozie, who was inspecting a flat tyre on his vehicle.
Ms Bogusiewicz, 45 and of Park Avenue in Wraysbury, was charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and drink driving.
At Southampton Crown Court, she was sentenced to 28 months in prison.
She will also be disqualified from driving for three years after her release, and will need to take an extended retest before being permitted to drive again.
DC Joy Jarvis, investigating, said: "There is absolutely no excuse for getting behind the wheel of any vehicle when you are impaired from drinking alcohol.
"This terrible collision, which has changed a man's life, could have easily been avoided if the defendant hadn't made that selfish decision to drive while drunk."
