Chatteris man jailed for violent control over partner
The 32-year-old carried out a campaign of abuse

A 32-year-old man from Chatteris, has been sentenced to three years in prison after subjecting his partner to several weeks of violent abuse and control.
The distressing campaign included daily incidents where Benjamin Davies kicked, punched, and strangled his victim, causing physical harm and damaging personal belongings like her mobile phone and glasses.
Police intervention came after an anonymous tip reached the victim’s family, prompting action on 20th November 2025 at Davies' residence on Slade Way.
Neighbours reported disturbances, and the victim secretly sought help from them by passing on contact numbers, which led to the police forcing entry and arresting Davies.
At Cambridge Crown Court, Davies pleaded guilty to several charges, including actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, suffocation, and criminal damage. A separate charge of controlling behaviour in an intimate relationship will be left on file.
He was additionally issued a ten-year restraining order.
Detective Sergeant Sam Moorby commended the victim for her bravery in coming forward and emphasised that domestic abuse is a serious issue, urging those affected to seek help.
