Two charged after fatal A350 crash in North Dorset

Two men have been charged following a detailed investigation by police into a fatal road traffic collision in North Dorset.
This all comes after the force received a report of a collision on the A350 Main Road near the village of Compton Abbas at 7.46pm on Thursday 6 June 2024.
The incident involved a silver Audi TT Quattro, a grey BMW 218I, a blue Isuzu D-Max and a pedestrian.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian – 62-year-old Dean McCormack from Warminster in Wiltshire – was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger from the Audi – a man aged in his 20s – was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be serious.
Following fast-time enquiries, two men were arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
A detailed investigation ensued and both men - a 21-year-old man from Shaftesbury and a 22-year-old man from Mere in Wiltshire - have now been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Sergeant Mike Burt, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “Firstly, our thoughts remain with the family and the loved ones of Dean McCormack.
“Following detailed enquiries, we have consulted with the Crown Prosecution Service, which has authorised charges against the two individuals in this case.
“This matter will be subject to active court proceedings and it is vital that the justice process is allowed to follow its course. We would therefore urge members of the public to refrain from speculation or commentary relating to this case, particularly online and on social media.”
