Man, 20s robbed on Westham Bridge in Weymouth

Police are seeking witnesses to the early morning assault

A robbery occurred early in the morning on Westham Bridge in Weymouth, prompting a call for witnesses by local police.

At approximately 12:45 am on 5th June 2026, a man in his 20s was reportedly assaulted and threatened by a man and a woman before being robbed of £10.

Despite the assault, the victim was assessed by the ambulance service and found to have no serious injuries.

Police Description of Suspects

The man involved in the robbery is described as white, of slim build, with grey hair and a beard, and was wearing a blue and black tracksuit.

The woman is described as white and of large build.

Appeal for Information

Police Constable Mike Golder from the Weymouth and Portland Neighbourhood Policing Team emphasised the presence of multiple witnesses due to the location and time of the robbery.

"We are investigating this incident and from our enquiries we believe there were a number of people present in the area of Westham Bridge at the time of the reported robbery," Police Constable Golder said.

He urged anyone with information that might assist the investigation to contact Dorset Police or Crimestoppers.
