A derelict building's been involved in a serious fire near Maiden Newton.
Fire crews were called out to tackle the blaze at Cattistock Lodge on Newton Round in the village of Cattistock last night (Monday 13th January).
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue service say they were called out at around 10.45pm, with teams from Dorchester and Maiden Newton attending.
Help was requested from teams from Dorchester, Bridport and Yeovil.
The fire was quickly brought under control, however due to its location and access it took some time to extinguish.
A relief crew has been monitoring the property from 4.00am today.
Maiden Newton Fire Station have advised that ‘the incident will be re-inspected during daylight hours today (Tuesday 14th January) by fire crews and Dorset Council as there are concerns regarding the stability of the building'.
People are being asked to remain clear of the area, due to the safety risk.
