Police launch appeal after petrol bomb sets fire to house in Bournemouth
CCTV footage of the incident found two men vandalising the property
Dorset Police have released CCTV of an arson attack taking place at a property in Bournemouth as part of an appeal.
Officers from the force were alerted to an incident taking place at a property on Montgomery Avenue at around 1:05am on May 15th.
When responders arrived at the scene, they found that the address had caught fire - calling on the fire and rescue service to put out the blaze.
Now, officers have released CCTV footage of the moment the house was set ablaze, after two men wearing face coverings drove up to the house.
Arriving at the scene in a dark-coloured Volkswagen Tiguan, the men proceeded to throw bricks at the house before throwing a petrol bomb to the house before driving off.
In the incident, a man who was in the house at the time of the incident suffered a minor burn to his hand, which officers deemed not serious enough to need hospital treatment.
Speaking on the case, Detective Inspector Chris Bradford from Dorset Police described the incident as a "deliberate and targeted attack", and investigations were ongoing.
"As part of our enquiries, we are now in a position to release doorbell CCTV footage of the incident with the audio as we believe this may assist members of the public with identifying two of the suspects," he said.
“I would urge anyone who recognises them or their voices, or who has any further information that might assist our enquiries, to please contact us.”
