A body has been found by police divers in the search for a man who went missing in Poole
A body has been found by police divers in the search for a man who went missing in Poole on Monday.
Jason - police are only giving us his first name - got into the sea after his cabin cruiser ran aground.
Formal identification hasn't taken place yet - but officers believe the body found in Rockley Harbour is the 50-year-old.
In a statement, Dorset Police said: "Jason, aged 50, was reported missing at 11pm on Monday 2 June 2025 after a cabin cruiser boat he was on ran aground and he subsequently entered the water to try and free it.
"Shortly after 9:30pm on Tuesday 3 June 2025 specialist police divers located a body in water in the area of Rockley Harbour.
"While the body has not yet been formally identified, it is believed to be Jason and his family has been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner has been notified."
Chief Inspector Darren Harris, of Dorset Police, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones of Jason at this extremely difficult time.
“I would like to thank all those involved in the search efforts to locate him, including HM Coastguard, the RNLI, Wessex Search and Rescue, Devon & Cornwall Police dive team as well as a large number of our officers and staff.”
