Appeal for witnesses after crash near Sherborne leaves elderly couple seriously injured

Police seek information following a multi-vehicle collision

Dorset Police are asking for public assistance following a serious road accident involving three vehicles close to Sherborne.

The crash took place around 2.50pm on 18th March 2026 on the A30 Yeovil Road, near the junction with A352 Horsecastle Lane.

A grey Mercedes E-class, a white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, and a red Mazda 3 were involved.

According to reports, two people in their 80s in the Mazda have sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Mercedes E-class, a man in his 70s, is also undergoing treatment for non-severe injuries.

Police Constable James Hazell from the Roads Policing Team has urged those with information or dashcam footage of the accident to come forward.

He expressed gratitude to motorists for their patience during road closures required for emergency services.
