West Midlands Police say they will continue to support the Jewish community
Two gunmen, a father and son, killed 15 people and injured at least 40 others on Bondi Beach on Sunday
West Midlands Police have said that after the appalling scenes which unfolded at the Hanukkah event at Bondi Beach on the weekend, they have been in touch with Jewish communities across the West Midlands.
They added that they know that what should be a time of celebration for Jewish people has now become a time of grief and anger.
In the aftermath of the terror attack, officers say they have been speaking with Jewish community representatives around the West Midlands to offer support and reassurance at a deeply troubling time for them.
With many Hanukkah events taking place around the region over the coming days, police say they have increased their patrols in the communities most affected.
The force says officers are in touch with event organisers to offer safety advice and listen to their concerns.
They say they will continue to work tirelessly to make the West Midlands a safe place for people from all communities.
