The West Midlands Police Guardian Taskforce has executed a series of operations across Coventry and Solihull, resulting in multiple arrests and the recovery of weapons.

On Sunday, 27th September, officers conducted proactive patrols around Coventry, culminating in the detention of a man at Abbey Park following the interception of a vehicle.

The 25-year-old was arrested after officers discovered over 30 wraps of Class A drugs, more than £500 in cash, and mobile phones believed to be connected to drug dealing.

The individual has been released on bail pending further enquiries into the investigation.

In Solihull, on Saturday, 26th September, the Guardian team arrested three men.

Among them, 19-year-old Asad Ali was charged with possessing a bladed article after a knife was retrieved.

He is scheduled to appear before Birmingham Magistrates on 20th October.

The other two men, aged 48 and 35, have also been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The Guardian Taskforce is a specialised team focusing on knife crime and youth violence, employing a variety of tactics, including plain-clothed operations, high-visibility patrols, and engaging positively with young people.

Individuals residing in these areas are encouraged to report any suspicious activity by contacting the police at 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
