Walsall man jailed for more than 25 years for child sex offences
The 61-year-old abused three teenage girls
A Walsall man has been jailed for more than 25 years after being found guilty of sex offences against young girls.
John Robinson, 61, abused three teenage girls while living in the Walsall area over more than 20 years, giving them alcohol and making indecent images of his offending.
The offences all took place between the years 2000 and 2023. The girls were all teenagers.
Robinson was arrested and charged after one of the girls, now an adult, came forward to tell her story.
In the following investigation two more girls were identified.
Investigations found indecent images and moving footage capturing the rapes that Robinson had kept hold of for more than 20 years in some cases.
He denied all the offences and police say he laughed when allegations were put to him. He told officers he had been friends with the girls and said he didn't know why they would lie about it.
Officers were able to use technology including facial ID software to identify the victims.
Robinson was sentenced to 26 years in prison after being convicted of offences including rape of a child, gross indecency with a child, taking indecent images and sexual activity with a child. He appeared at Birmingham Crown Court.
