A 30-year-old Telford man has been sentenced to more than three-and-a-half years in prison for his involvement in county lines drug dealing.

Andrew Lane, of Laburnam Lane, was handed a 44-month custodial sentence on 31st October at Shrewsbury Crown Court. He had earlier pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Lane was first arrested in January 2024 when police executed a warrant at his home following intelligence suggesting his involvement in drug dealing. Although he was released on bail after the initial arrest, further investigations by officers revealed that Lane continued his illegal activities.

In March 2025, officers carried out a second warrant at his property, seizing mobile phones that provided crucial evidence linking him to county lines drug deals. During police interviews, Lane admitted to making £5,000 per day from selling drugs, which funded a lavish lifestyle, including holidays in Mexico, Turkey, and The Netherlands.

Detective Sergeant Tim Atherton, from Telford’s proactive CID, spoke about the case and the wider impact of reducing drug-related crime.

"We are pleased with the outcome in court, as this sentencing follows extensive work from the team, who are committed and determined to stop drug supply in Telford.

“We will always act upon intelligence, and will continue to disrupt, target and apprehend those who are involved in dealing drugs. The upset these people bring to our community is immeasurable.”

Atherton also urged the public to report any signs of criminal activity via West Mercia Police’s website, stressing that any information, no matter how small, could make a difference.

Those wishing to share anonymous information can do so through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or online at https://crimestoppers-uk.org/ .

This investigation falls under Operation Target, an initiative by West Mercia Police to tackle serious and organised crime.
