Teenager killed in Birmingham car crash

A teenage boy has died following a crash in Birmingham.
Emergency services were called to an incident at around 8:30pm on Shaftmoor Lane last night (Saturday 17th October 2026) involving a white Seat Ibiza.
A 16-year-old found in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics' efforts.
Another teenage passenger sustained a serious arm injury and was taken to hospital.
Police have arrested a 19-year-old man at the scene for suspicion of causing death and injury by dangerous driving and failing to provide a breath specimen.
West Midlands Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is seeking dashcam footage from witnesses around the time of the accident.
