Workers involved in the long-running Birmingham bin strike are meeting with the city's MPs in Parliament on Tuesday evening as the dispute remains deadlocked.

Members of Unite have been taking industrial action for over a year and have been on all-out strike since last March in a row over pay.

A letter signed by a number of Labour MPs was handed to the Government, calling on Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to take action to help resolve the dispute.

The letter said: "Unite MPs from all factions of the Labour Party have expressed grave concern at how this avoidable dispute has been allowed to continue.

"Unite members voted for a Labour Government with the cast-iron guarantee of a new era of industrial relations, working hand in hand with the union movement.

"Resolving this strike is an opportunity to see this pledge in action."
