Man charged with murder following Sparkbrook stabbing

A man has been charged with murder following a stabbing in Sparkbrook, Birmingham.

Police have charged a man with murder following a stabbing in Sparkbrook, Birmingham.

A man was injured on Walford Road at around 6:20pm last Thursday (4 June) and died a short time later.

Ahmad Alkozai, 29, was arrested down in the Bristol area on Friday (5 June). Three others have been bailed with conditions.

Detectives believe it was a targeted attack and the people involved were known to each other. They're urging people not to share photos and videos online to avoid causing more distress to the families of those involved, and also to avoid prejudicing legal proceedings.

Det Insp Matt Marston, leading the investigation, said: “This is a significant step forward in our investigation, which is continuing.

“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family – they have are being kept updated and we continue to offer them our full support.

“It’s vital that anyone who does have footage or information shares it with us directly.”
