Man charged with attempted murder after shooting in Smethwick

21-year-old Haytham Almosuli faces multiple charges following incident

A 21-year-old man, Haytham Almosuli, has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting incident in Smethwick.

The shooting occurred on Bearwood Road at around 1:30 am on 11th March, where a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg.

In addition to attempted murder, Almosuli faces charges of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of two zombie knives in a private place, theft, fraud, and motoring offences.

He is scheduled to appear before Birmingham magistrates today.

The victim, who was also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, has been released on police bail and from hospital.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident and urge anyone with information or who witnessed the event to come forward.
