Two more teenagers have been arrested as police investigate a murder in Smethwick.

Zeshan Afzal, 18, was stabbed following a violent disorder on Oldbury Road shortly before 9pm on 20 February.

Three teenagers have already been charged in connection with the incident.

This morning, two 17-year-olds were detained and remain in police custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Ade George, from West Midlands Police said: "This remains a very active investigation as we establish exactly what happened and who was involved.

"We believe there are a number of people who have information but haven't spoken to us so far. We understand some may be reluctant to come forward, but it's crucial you do and tell us what you know.

"Your information, alongside what we've received so far, could be vital in helping us get justice for Zeshan and his family. It's tragic someone so young has had their life taken away from them."

Anyone with information can contact 101 with the log number 4896 of 20 February. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 55511.
