Rally to be held in Birmingham over bin strikes
A march is taking place from Unite offices to the council house.
Trade unionists from across the country will join a march through Birmingham today to rally for the bin strikes.
They'll be joined by community groups including Birmingham Rise Up and End the Bin Strikes.
Just earlier this month workers voted in favour of extending the strike action until March 2026, meaning there will be no collections throughout Christmas.
Birmingham bin workers have been on strike since January over effective fire and rehire cuts of up to £8,000.
Negotiations have been off the table for months, with the council and union unable to agree on a deal.
Unite say the strikes won't end until "a fair pay deal is secured for workers".
Birmingham City Council said they've been "reasonable and fair" and offered all they can.
