Police appeal for witnesses after boy, 4, seriously hurt in Smethwick hit-and-run

Police are appealing for the driver involved in a hit-and-run in Smethwick to hand themselves in.

Police are appealing for the driver involved in a hit-and-run in Smethwick, in which a four-year-old boy was seriously injured, to hand themselves in.

The boy was hit on Talbot Road at around 7:15pm on 25 May.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene.

The four-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and is continuing to recover.

PC Joshua Travis, from the Traffic Investigation Team at West Midlands Police, said: "The car is described as being dark-coloured.

"We are asking the driver of the car to do the right thing and get in touch with us."
