Birmingham man jailed after grooming and raping girls
A Birmingham man has been jailed after grooming and raping young girls.
A man from Birmingham has been jailed for historical sexual abuse against three young girls,
Peter King, 73, befriended their parents before grooming the girls - aged between six and 15 - during the 1990s and early 2000s.
He worked as a taxi driver and would take the girls on trips, holidays, buy them clothes and food, and take them to his flat in Highgate.
One girl he abused, who was 15 at the time, became pregnant by King and terminated the pregnancy. It was this girl who reported the abuse to police years later.
Detective Investigating Officer Liz Weston, from our PPU, said: “King preyed on these young girls and took advantage of them when they were at their most vulnerable.
"It was through the bravery of the women who came forward and recounted their abuse, from when they were children, that we were able to ensure King was brought to justice for his deplorable actions.
"He has now received a significant jail term, and I hope this brings some form of closure for those he subjected to these horrific crimes."
King, now of Southampton, has been convicted of 15 sex offences, including multiple incidents of rape and indecent assault, following a trial. He was jailed for 22 years.
