Person dies on rail lines in Dudley

A person has died on train tracks in the Black Country.

Emergency services were called to reports of a casualty on the lines at 6:15am near Dudley Port railway station.

British Transport Police said: "Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased. The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

Services were delayed or cancelled this morning as emergency services dealt with the incident.

National Rail predict services will resume by 11am.
