Murder investigation launched after man's body found in Smethwick

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a body at an address on South Road, Smethwick.
The body was found just before 3.15pm on Thursday 6th August, following a call from a member of the public.
The family of the man, who was in his 40s, have been informed.
A short time later, a man aged 60 was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody today.
West Midlands Police are carrying out CCTV and house-to-house enquiries as they work to establish the full circumstances.
The force is appealing for anyone with information, CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage from the area which may help the investigation to get in touch, quoting log 3109 of 6 August.
