Man arrested on suspicion of murder in Birmingham
A 42-year-old is being questioned in custody
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Birmingham, after a 38-year-old was found unconscious in Erdington.
Michael Bennett was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries from the incident on March 27th 2026. He died on April 10th 2026.
A 42-year-old was arrested today (24th April) and is being questioned in custody.
Police say they believe people were in the area when it happened and have not yet come forward to speak to police.
Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell, who is leading the investigation, said: "This is a significant development in our investigation.
"We are still continuing to appeal for witnesses to get in touch with us.
"I'd ask for anyone who was in the vicinity of Reservoir Road - between 9.30pm on Thursday 26th March and 12:55am on Friday 27th March 2026 - and may have seen Michael to come forward and tell us what you know."
