Man jailed following knife attack in Small Heath

A 26-year-old man from Sutton Coldfield has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for his involvement in a violent attack that took place in Small Heath last year.

On 9th August, two men approached a person who was sitting on a quad bike on Monica Road in Small Heath.

The pair pushed the victim to the ground before assaulting him and inflicting multiple slashing wounds with a flick knife.

The injuries sustained by the victim were not life-threatening or life-changing.

Following the attack, a police investigation identified Taylor Burns and Jafir Nazir as the suspects.

Burns was subsequently arrested and admitted to charges of section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a knife.

On Monday, 16th March, he was sentenced to six years and six months in prison.

Meanwhile, authorities say they are actively seeking Jafir Nazir, 29, who is wanted for attempted murder.

Crimestoppers has announced a reward of up to £5,000 for information leading to Nazir’s arrest.
