Man jailed for throwing his girlfriend from a tower block in Birmingham
It happened in Chelmsley Wood in November 2022
A man who threw his girlfriend from a tower block has been jailed for five years.
Jordan Herring had earlier been found guilty of wounding following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court in January.
The 22-year-old was also previously convicted of coercive and controlling behaviour towards the same woman.
Herring threw his girlfriend from the fourth floor of Merton House, Chelmsley Wood, on 12 November 2022.
Emergency services were not called to help the 18-year-old for an hour, but she was eventually airlifted to hospital with a collapsed lung, fractures to her pelvis and ribs.
Herring claimed she jumped out of the window but Herring was later arrested and charged.
Herring, of Lark Meadow Drive, Solihull, was jailed today for a total of five years for wounding, and coercive and controlling behaviour.
Police have continued to support the woman throughout the lengthy ordeal and have commended her bravery in speaking about the abuse she suffered.
