UPDATE: Man dies after falling 'several floors' in Birmingham bar

Police in Birmingham have issued an update on an incident in the city centre.

A man - in his 40s - has died after reportedly falling a number of floors within a building.

Officers were called to a Colmore Row on Sunday evening (3 May).

The force says the death is not being treated as suspicious.

In an updated statement, West Midlands Police said:

'We were called to Colmore Row, Birmingham city centre, at around 6.20pm yesterday (3 May) after a man fell a number of floors within a building.

'The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital but has since sadly died. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this awful time.

'The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.'

We understand a man's been seriously injured after falling several floors inside a Birmingham building.

Police say they were called out to a bar on Colmore Row in the city centre last night (Sunday, 3 May).

It's not clear what happened and an investigation is now underway.

West Midlands Police sent us this statement:

'We’re currently in Colmore Row, Birmingham city centre, after a man is understood to have fallen a number of floors within a building.

'He has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

'We’re currently at the scene with emergency service colleagues as we seek to establish the full circumstances.'
