A man is charged after a teenager is shot in Birmingham

West Midlands Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a teenager was discovered with a gunshot wound in Birmingham last month.

A 15-year-old boy was found with injuries in Newtown Row, Newtown, at just after 10.30pm on 23 July.

It's understood he was shot in the nearby park in Porchester Street and thankfully his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or changing.

Jibril Abdi was detained from a vehicle in High Wycombe on Wednesday (5 August) and brought back to a West Midlands custody block for questioning.

The 21-year-old from Newtown has now been charged and remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (8 August).
