West Bromwich thief who punched guard and spat at officer jailed

A thief who assaulted a security guard and spat a police officer in West Bromwich has been jailed.
39-year-old Lee Egege stole various items from two stores in January, before attacking a security guard who tried to stop him running out of a store.
He punched the guard in the face.
When Egege was arrested, he spat at one of the officers.
He has now been sentenced to 18 weeks in prison after being charged with two counts of shop theft, common assault and assaulting a constable.
