Man charged with murder after a father was killed in Wolverhampton

A man has been charged with murder after the death of a father in Wolverhampton.

20-year-old Jashan Singh is accused of killing 26-year-old Navpreet Singh, who was attacked in a car park off Dudley Road last week.

Two other men arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail.

A West Midlands police spokesperson said, "We've charged a man with the murder of a father in Wolverhampton.

"Jashan Singh was arrested in connection with the death of Navpreet Singh who was attacked in a car park off Dudley Road last week.

"The 20-year-old from Wolverhampton has now been charged with murder.

"He has been remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (28 October).

"Navpreet Singh, aged 26, was taken to hospital with serious injuries at around 1.30am last Wednesday (22 October). He was sadly confirmed dead at around 2.10am.

"Our thoughts and support are with his family and friends at this devastating time.

"Two other men, aged 23 and 34, who were arrested on suspicion of murder have since been bailed pending further enquiries."
