Grassland fire in Halesowen started deliberately
Crews believe a grassland fire in Halesowen, Dudley, was started deliberately.
Crews from West Midlands Fire Service say they believe a blaze, which broke out in Halesowen yesterday was started deliberately.
At its height, 11 engines were tackling the fire on grassland near Cocksheds Lane.
People nearby were asked to keep their windows and doors closed.
West Midlands Fire Service said in a statement on the website: "Our crews have been working really hard and due to the progress made, we are scaling down our resources to 5 fire engines and the day crew are handing over to the night crew.
"There are now no visible flames, but due to the size of the area affected by fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately, crews will be working through the night targeting hotspots and damping down.
"Colleagues from our Fire Investigation team have been in attendance and have contacted West Midlands Police."
