Five arrested after two men stabbed in Sandwell disturbance
Weapons involved in an overnight disturbance
Five people have been arrested following an overnight disturbance in Sandwell, where two men were stabbed.
Police were called to Birchfield Lane, Oldbury, shortly before 12:50am on 1st March to reports of a disturbance involving weapons among a group of people.
Officers acted swiftly, resulting in multiple arrests.
Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, sustained injuries and were transported to hospital. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and possession of Class B drugs.
A 38-year-old man is also in custody, facing accusations of violent disorder and possession of Class A drugs.
Additionally, two women aged 34 and 44, along with a 34-year-old man, were detained on suspicion of violent disorder.
Chief Inspector Imran Mirza from Sandwell Police said, “Our enquiries into this incident are progressing and we’ve already made multiple arrests and are carrying out a thorough investigation to understand exactly what happened.
“I would like to reassure the community that we do believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.”
Anyone in the area at the time of the disturbance who may have captured footage is urged to contact police.
