Police step up presence following firearm incident
Police have intensified their presence in Northfield, Birmingham, following the firing of a gun at a home in Middle Field Road yesterday evening.
Authorities were alerted to the scene around 9:45pm, where they discovered damage to a window but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Investigations are underway to identify those responsible, and any individuals with information are encouraged to contact the police.
In response to the incident, additional officers have been deployed to the area as part of ongoing enquiries, coupled with increased neighbourhood patrols to reassure the community.
A dispersal order, effective from 12:30pm today, 4th September, has been imposed for a duration of 48 hours to enable police to disperse groups from the locality.
Inspector Matthew Shaw from the local policing unit commented:
“We know that this will have been a concerning incident for people in the area, so we are taking proportionate steps to reassure the community as investigations continue.
“You may see more officers on patrol in the area, and we’re ready to listen to any concerns you may have.
“Anyone who has information about this incident, or any footage, should contact us as soon as possible.”
