Woman seriously injured after being hit by car in Birmingham

A woman has been left with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Birmingham.

A woman in her 20s is being treated for life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Birmingham.

She was on Marsh Lane in Erdington at around 5:25pm yesterday (23 Sept) when it happened. She remains in hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of the car stopped to help police with their enquiries.

West Midlands Police said: "Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are currently working to establish exactly what’s happened and are appealing for anyone with any doorbell footage, or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.

"The driver remained at the scene and is helping with our investigation.

"Anyone with any information is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 4152 of 23 August, or you can contact Crimestoppers to remain anonymous on 0800 555 111."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "On arrival, crews found the pedestrian, a woman, had suffered serious injuries.

"She received specialist trauma care from ambulance staff before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with MERIT travelling on board to continue treatment.

"There were no other patients."
