Two more teenagers have been arrested after a 13-year-old boy was attacked in Birmingham on Monday (3 Mar).

A group of children were involved in the assault, which happened on Cock Hill Lane at around 4pm.

The boy was taken to hospital but has since been released.

A 13- and 14-year-old boy were detained this morning and remain in police custody today.

Meanwhile two other boys - both 13 - were arrested on Tuesday and have since been released on bail.

West Midlands Police said: "We are actively looking for other youths as part of the investigation, and are liaising with local schools as the investigation continues.

"Local officers are carrying out high-visibility patrols in the area to offer reassurance and speak to anyone with concerns. "

Det Sgt Shereen Ballintine, from Birmingham CID, said: "This was an appalling attack on a young boy which has been recorded and shared on social media.

"We’d ask people to consider the impact that this has had on the family of the young boy and not to share the footage, as we work hard to identify and arrest all of those involved.

Detectives believe the assault may be linked to another, which took place at Hollywood Bowl in Rubery on Sunday (2 Mar) at around 4:30pm.
