A teenager has been arrested after 16-year-old was shot in Alum Rock, Birmingham.
He was seriously injured on Bowyer Road, just off St Saviours Road, at around 5:30pm yesterday (1 July).
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
Detective Inspector Francis Nock from the Major Crime Team said: “Our investigation is continuing and I would urge anyone who might have seen something or has dashcam or doorbell footage to get in touch.
“Officers will be in the area today to offer reassurance to the local community.”
Although the shooting happened near a mosque, it is not believed to be connected with the shooting.
