Andre Hancox pleads guilty at Stafford Crown Court
A Birmingham man has admitted to assaulting his ex-partner and two men, resulting in his trial being dismissed after changing his plea to guilty.
Andre Hancox, 28, confessed to charges on the first day of his trial at Stafford Crown Court on 1st September.
He was convicted of assaulting a person thereby occasioning actual bodily harm and assault by beating.
Hancox attacked his ex-partner at her home in Hednesford in February.
A man who attempted to intervene was stabbed in the chest, and another man was also assaulted during the incident.
Hancox remains in custody and is scheduled for sentencing on 28th October.
Police response
Detective Constable Reece Hingley commented on the case, stressing the police commitment to address violence against women, domestic abuse, and serious violent crimes.
Detective Constable Hingley said that the substantial evidence against Hancox contributed to his decision to plead guilty.
He stated, “Domestic violence is an incredibly damaging crime, both physically and emotionally, and I'm pleased we were able to build all the evidence needed in this case to make sure another perpetrator in our county is being bought to justice.”
