Birmingham City have confirmed the arrival of Colombian midfielder Jhon Solís on a loan deal from La Liga team Girona.

The 21-year-old will remain with the Blues until the end of the 2025-26 season, subject to clearance, and will wear the number 14 shirt.

Solis is the second signing of the January transfer window for Birmingham City, following Kai Wagner's move from Philadelphia Union.

Known for his ability to win the ball and his technical skills, Solís is expected to strengthen the midfield options for Birmingham manager Chris Davies.

Career so far

The central midfielder started his playing career in Colombia with Atlético Nacional, where he helped the team secure the Apertura title in 2022 and the Superliga in 2023.

Solis joined Girona in September 2023 and made an immediate impression, making 22 appearances during his first season with the club. Girona finished third in La Liga that season.

During the 2024/25 campaign, Solís competed against top clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League. He has a total of 61 appearances across all competitions for Girona.
