Teenager injured in Birmingham bike crash after police attempt to stop him
Police seek footage following incident involving 16-year-old
A teenager is in hospital after being seriously injured when police attempted to stop him in Birmingham city centre.
The 16-year-old was riding a petrol-powered off-road bike on Digbeth High Street around 8.50pm yesterday when an officer on an e-bike tried to intercept him.
After the attempt to stop him, the teenager collided with signage and fell from his bike.
He is currently stable in hospital.
The situation has been referred to the Professional Standards Department as part of the routine process.
Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
