Watford FC Women’s midfielder Anna Filbey is set to take to the skies to raise funds for West Herts Hospitals Charity.

The skydive comes after the club gained promotion to the Women’s Championship after clinching the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division title.

Filbey, who joined the Hornets for the 2024/25 season and secured the Watford FC Women’s Goal of the Season award, is now focusing her efforts on this exhilarating fundraising challenge.

As an Ambassador for West Herts Hospitals Charity, she aims to support enhancements for NHS services that go beyond core funding.

The funds raised through Filbey’s skydive will contribute to the charity's Caring for Generations appeal, which aims to refurbish isolation rooms on the Starfish children’s ward at Watford General Hospital.

The project seeks to transform these spaces with new flooring, child-friendly décor, televisions, storage, softer lighting, and comfortable beds for parents, making long hospital stays more homely and comfortable for children and their families.

Anna Filbey has set up a JustGiving page which aims to raise £2,000.

Ahead of the skydive, Filbey said: "It has been a privilege to serve as an ambassador for West Herts Hospitals Charity over the past year...I am proud to represent the charity as we celebrate a successful season on the pitch by making the hospital environment more welcoming for young patients."

Alison Rosen, CEO of West Herts Hospitals Charity, commended Filbey’s dedication: "We are delighted to have Anna's continued support...She is literally taking a leap of faith to help us raise money for the Caring for Generations appeal."

Each donation will have a significant impact on improving the care and experience of patients and their families across West Hertfordshire.
